Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The manuscript follows the journal’s submission and formatting guidelines.
  • All authors have reviewed and approved the submitted manuscript.
  • The work complies with ethical standards, including proper citation and avoidance of plagiarism.
  • Where applicable, ethical approval has been obtained for research involving human participants.
  • The manuscript has been prepared for peer review and does not include identifying author information (if required).
  • Authors agree to the journal’s open-access and publication policies.

Author Guidelines

IRIOSH Research Series welcomes high-quality, original research articles, reviews, and policy-oriented papers in the field of occupational safety and health.

Scope of Submissions
The journal publishes research that contributes to improving workplace safety, health, and worker well-being across industries and regions. Interdisciplinary and international perspectives are strongly encouraged.

Manuscript Preparation
Submissions should be clearly written, well-structured, and evidence-based. Authors are encouraged to ensure clarity, methodological rigor, and relevance to occupational safety and health practice and policy.

All manuscripts should include:
• Title
• Abstract
• Keywords
• Main text (Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion)
• References

Ethics and Integrity
Authors must ensure that their work is original, properly cited, and complies with ethical research standards. Where applicable, studies involving human participants must include evidence of ethical approval.

Peer Review Process
All submissions undergo a peer-review process to ensure academic quality, validity, and relevance.

Open Access Policy
IRIOSH Research Series follows an open-access model to promote equitable global access to knowledge. All published articles are freely accessible.

Publication Fees
A minimal Article Processing Charge (APC) of $50 USD applies only after acceptance. Waivers may be granted in cases of financial hardship. There are no submission fees.

Independence Statement
IRIOSH Research Series is an independent, non-profit initiative and is not affiliated with any government, the United Nations (UN), or the International Labour Organization (ILO).

This section publishes original research articles that contribute to advancing occupational safety, health, and worker well-being through high-quality, evidence-based research.

Review Articles

This section publishes systematic reviews, scoping reviews, and critical literature reviews in occupational safety and health.

Short Communications

This section publishes brief reports, preliminary findings, and emerging research relevant to occupational safety and health.

Editorials

This section includes editorials, commentaries, and expert perspectives on emerging issues in occupational safety and health.

Policy & Practice

This section publishes research and case studies related to occupational safety policies, workplace practices, and regulatory frameworks.
