IRIOSH Global Occupational Safety and Health Webinar 2026 Successfully Concludes
The International Research Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IRIOSH), Canada, successfully concluded the IRIOSH Global Occupational Safety and Health Webinar 2026, held virtually on September 21, 2026 (Singapore/Malaysia Time) / September 20, 2026 (Saskatchewan, Canada).
Held under the theme “Occupational Safety and Health as a Global Concern: The Way Forward — A Canadian Perspective,” the webinar brought together occupational safety and health professionals, researchers, academics, practitioners, students, regulators, industry representatives, and other stakeholders from countries and regions around the world.
The webinar explored occupational safety and health as a shared global concern, with particular attention to prevention, leadership, workplace well-being, research, knowledge exchange, and the future direction of OSH. The featured presentation was followed by an interactive international discussion, providing participants with opportunities to contribute questions, experiences, ideas, and perspectives from their respective professional and regional contexts.
A key dimension of the discussion was the importance of moving from reactive approaches toward a stronger culture of prevention, consistent with the principles of Vision Zero. The webinar highlighted the shared responsibility of governments, employers, workers, researchers, professionals, institutions, and communities in working toward the prevention of occupational fatalities, injuries, diseases, and other forms of work-related harm.
The initiative also emphasized inclusive global participation. Participants were provided opportunities to contribute through live discussion, chat, and post-webinar engagement, helping extend the exchange of OSH perspectives beyond the scheduled virtual session and enabling broader participation across geographical regions and time zones.
The webinar formed part of IRIOSH’s Pre-Singapore global engagement, connecting international virtual dialogue with the forthcoming IRIOSH Global Occupational Safety, Health & Worker Well-Being Summit 2026, scheduled for November 11, 2026, at Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Singapore.
IRIOSH extends its appreciation to all participants, contributors, invited observers, collaborating professionals, volunteers, organizing team members, and international stakeholders whose participation, perspectives, and support contributed to the success of this global initiative.
Founder’s Reflection“Occupational safety and health is a shared global responsibility. When we bring together different experiences, disciplines, and regions, we strengthen our collective ability to prevent harm and build safer, healthier, and more dignified workplaces.”
